BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. The
first matches of the semifinals in the lads’s part, the ultimate
match and the third place match in the ladies’s part are taking
place on the World Chess Cup in Baku on August 19, Trend studies.
Magnus Carlsen (Norway) is the opponent of Azerbaijani
chess participant Nijat Abasov in the semifinals. Today Abasov will play
with black figures.
Men ‘s World Cup matches –
semifinals:
Magnus Carlsen (Norway) – Nijat Abasov
(Azerbaijan);
Fabiano Caruana (USA) – Rameshbabu Pragnanandhaa
(India).
Women ‘s World Cup matches –
remaining:
Alexandra Goryachkina (FIDE) – Nurgul Salimova
(Bulgaria).
Third Place match:
Anna Muzychuk (Ukraine) – Tan Zhongyi (China).
The beginning checklist of the World Chess Cup of the
International Chess Federation (FIDE) in Baku included 206 chess
players in the open part and 103 in the ladies’s part.
For the second time, Azerbaijan is internet hosting the Chess
World Cup. For the primary time, the highest three rivals from the
open and girls’s classes will earn a spot in the 2024 Men’s
Candidates Tournament and Women’s Candidates Tournament,
respectively.
On the competitors’s official web site, matches from
the FIDE World Cup 2023 are broadcast in each Azerbaijani and
English.
Up by means of August twenty fifth, competitions can be held. The
successful prize stands at $2.5 million.
The World Chess Cup is being held at Marriott
Boulevard in Baku.
Azerbaijan is represented by a workforce of 17 chess
players, together with Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Teymur Rajabov, Gunay
Mammadzade, Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Vasif Durarbayli, Nijat
