Portion of 7th Avenue in Troy dedicated to community mentor



TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The city of Troy acknowledged a regional guy Friday, that had a huge influence on the community. The city dedicated a portion of 7th Avenue outside the Boys & Girls Club.

It was relabelled Earl Harrison Way. Harrison passed away earlier in the year, yet his heritage resides on. He acted as a train, mentor, and instructor at the Boys & Girls Club and Troy City Schools. He influenced several youths.

“The city of Troy was blessed to have a man of his talents, his values, and his dedication in our community,” Troy Mayor Patrick Madden stated. “We are a better community because of his contributions.”

Earl Harrison Way lies in between State Street and Congress Street.
