AUSTIN (KXAN) — Volunteers joined Keep Austin Beautiful and the Austin Rowing Club Monday morning for cleanup efforts at Lady Bird Lake.
The occasion ran from September 11 a.m. Monday. Volunteers assisted in waterway cleanups in addition to amassing litter alongside the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail.
Attendees had been cautioned to be aware of poisonous algae blooms and zebra mussels throughout their volunteer shift. They had been additionally requested to have the ability to establish poison ivy, oak and sumac, which was deemed “essential for a safe cleanup.”
It’s not the primary time the 2 organizations have collaborated on cleanup initiatives. Back in July, a group of volunteers helped acquire waste from Lady Bird Lake following the Fourth of July vacation.
