BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) — Some bank employees closed their branches, and took a half day on Thursday to participate in Neighbors Make the Difference Day.
For 33 years in a row, Key Bank’s Make the Difference Day gets employees out of the office and volunteering with local organizations. This year, for the third year in a row, local Key Bank branches, specifically the two branches in Endicott and on Front Street, closed for a half day and employees volunteered at the CHOW Warehouse.
Key employees were sorting the food donations coming into the warehouse, and taking inventory. The branch manager at the Front Street location, James Clingerman says the demand for food keeps growing, which is why he has chosen to volunteer at CHOW for three years in a row.
“This mirrors greatly with our culture with key, and just helping and being involved in our community. Being that, here in Binghamton, one of the biggest needs is hungry families, we have chosen CHOW for a third year in a row now, because it’s such an impactful thing an they do it so well,” Clingerman said.
More than 100 Key Bank employees volunteered across the region at more than two dozen projects on Thursday. All of Key Bank posted photos of their projects on X (Twitter) and Instagram, look up #KeyBankNMTDD.
