The 76-year-old basketball legend was promptly attended to by the Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics on Friday evening and subsequently transported to a local medical facility. Deborah Morales, his business partner and spokesperson, shared this information in a statement provided to The Times, highlighting the swift response of emergency services.
“During a concert last night, Kareem experienced an accidental fall that resulted in a broken hip,” Morales revealed, underscoring the seriousness of the incident.
“We are incredibly thankful for the overwhelming support for Kareem, particularly from the Los Angeles Fire Department who rendered immediate assistance and the outstanding medical professionals at UCLA Hospital who are currently providing exceptional care for him,” Morales added, expressing gratitude for the community’s support.
