TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 16. The number
of German citizens visiting Uzbekistan totaled 18,400 people from
January through July 2024.

The data obtained by Trend from the country’s Statistics Agency indicates
that this figure increased by 30.9 percent (4,300 people) compared
to the same period in 2023.

The main reasons for the visit of German citizens to Uzbekistan
are recreation (15,303 people), business trips (846 people), visits
to relatives (2,189 people), study (20 people), and treatment (7
people), business (44 people).

To note, the number of tourists from Uzbekistan traveling abroad
from January through July 2024 amounted to 3.4 million people. This
figure increased by 35.7 percent (890,500 people) compared to the
same period last year.

The most popular tourist destination for citizens of Uzbekistan
was Kyrgyzstan (1.6 million people). Tajikistan with 676,400
visitors ranked second, followed by Kazakhstan with 526,400
visitors.

Meanwhile, the number of foreign tourists visiting Uzbekistan
amounted to 4.2 million people, which is 15.3 percent (562,500
people) more than in the same period last year.
