BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – Today, we take a first look inside a new cafe that is combining two fan favorites, coffee and ice cream.
Sweet Treats Cafe is in the same space as the former Sweet Frog on South Washington Street in Binghamton.
On Monday, the cafe will hold its grand opening ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.
Sweet Treats Cafe says it is the only business in town that serves Kubal Coffee from Syracuse.
Every month, the cafe will pick a different flavored ice cream, and donate a portion of the proceeds to a local non-profit.
The featured flavor for March is cotton candy, and the non-profit of the month is the Special Olympics of Broome and Tioga Counties.
Co-Owner, Tammy Clover says, come Monday, the business will launch new breakfast items like bagels and homemade scones.
Co-Owner of Sweet Treats Cafe, Tammy Clover says, “Everyone knows this as the former Sweet Frog, but its now Sweet Treats Cafe. So, we don’t just have ice cream, it’s ice cream meets coffee. We have so many different options. We have scones that are just absolutely delicious, I make them. So, we just really want everyone to know this is the place to come and get your coffee. It’s the best coffee.”
Clover says you can customize your order however you like it, such as adding a scoop of pumpkin ice cream to a chai latte.
The cafe offers a variety of Perry’s Ice Cream and toppings like fresh fruit or candy.
Sweet Treats Cafe is open 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday.
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2 to 8 p.m. on Sundays.
