BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A Black fraternity on the Binghamton College campus is celebrating 40 years of manufacturing leaders and function fashions in the neighborhood.
The Mu Kappa chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi is holding an anniversary celebration this weekend along side BU’s homecoming.
The chapter was shaped in 1982 and has plenty of achieved alumni together with US Congressman Hakeem Jeffries.
Over time, the brothers have been concerned in plenty of volunteer actions together with donating to the Broome County City League and adopting a household for the vacations.
Mu Kappa supplies scholarships to B-U college students and based JUMP Nation, which stands for Juvenile City Multicultural Program.
It brings Black youth from New York Metropolis to campus for a 4 day weekend to reveal them to varsity life.
Physician Julius Johnson obtained his bachelor’s diploma in nursing at BU in 2005 and a masters in household nurse practitioner in 2010 earlier than shifting on to the College of Miami for his doctorate.
He stated {that a} major saying of the fraternity is “Achievement shouldn’t be a Buzzword.”
