BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WIVTWBGH) – The Broome County Public Library is celebrating Black History Month with a particular presentation on a outstanding couple who influenced the group.
Brenda Cave-James is internet hosting a dialogue on Claude and Beccye Fawcett, two early “movers and shakers” of Black Binghamton. The speak will happen on February 10 at 10:30 a.m.
The Fawcett’s had been well-known throughout the world for his or her involvement within the local black group in addition to their achievements. Beccye held the title of many “firsts” as a Black lady in Greater Binghamton whereas Claude was a widely known chef, caterer, and photographer.
Cave-James and her late husband Freddie James cared for Claude within the closing years of his life. They inherited his {photograph} assortment with papers together with artifacts from the {couples}’ full lives.
