JOHNSON CITY, (WIVT/WBGH) – Cadets from Civil Air Patrol’s Central NY Group were able to participate in a “Grip and Greet” with the US Navy Blue Angels for the 4th of July.
The Cadets were able to meet the Blue Angels as well as ask them questions and get autographs and shook hands with the Cadets, they were also able to get up close to the No. 6 F-18 Jet.
“This was an amazing Aviation opportunity for our Cadets” said Lt. Col. Doug Jensen, the Central NY Group Cadet Programs Officer. “We would like to thank the Blue Angels for taking the time to talk with our Cadets, the Airport staff and Schultz Airshows for arranging the meeting”
“The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps through flight demonstrations and community outreach while inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country,” says the mission statement on the Blue Angels webpage.
In addition to meeting the Blue Angels the Cadets from Civil Air Patrol’s Central NY Group will also help with safety on the flight line and around static aircraft displays for the Greater Binghamton Airshow on July 6th and 7th.
