BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 4. Azerbaijan’s
Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) Sabina Aliyeva met with
Bahrain’s Independent Ombudsman Ghada Hameed Habib within the
framework of the International Baku Forum of Ombudsmen, Trend reports.
A signing ceremony has been held for a memorandum of
understanding between the Azerbaijani Ombudsman’s Office and the
Independent Ombudsman Office of Bahrain.
The main goal of the memorandum is to strengthen the existing
ties between the institutions in the field of human rights
protection, organize joint training sessions and research,
facilitate information exchange and awareness-raising activities on
topics of mutual interest, and collaborate in other areas.
Azerbaijan’s Ombudsman noted that the signed memorandum will
create conditions for further strengthening cooperative ties and
enhancing the effective protection of human rights and
freedoms.
