COOPERSTOWN, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – On October seventeenth, New York State troopers had been dispatched to a report of an arson at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
Troopers decided that Raymond Sidlauskas, 66 of Afton, deliberately lit a trash can on hearth and brought on tens of 1000’s of {dollars} of injury to his hospital room and surrounding medical gear.
A number of rooms had been evacuated as a result of hearth and over a dozen sufferers, together with nurses and a safety guard, had been handled for smoke inhalation.
The fireplace was extinguished by hospital staff.
Sidlauskas was arrested and charged with Arson within the second diploma.
He was processed at State Police Richfield Springs after which transported to the Otsego County Jail for arraignment.
